And for a Friday travelling into US after break of three Covid impacted years, some thoughts….. some musings…..
Arriving into the US of A is always exciting; huge diversity. Americans are very friendly. No matter what their ethnicity and their country of origin, they all take to loud laughter and are fun to be with. The flight from Frankfurt was in the new Dreamliner aircraft; very spacious, comfortable and fresh-air miscible air conditioning. Did not feel jet lag at all. Dallas airport formalities; a breeze, immigration, customs and baggage, all done in 20 minutes flat and out to the parking lot.
The past week in US was dominated by PM Modi’s visit to the country and the historic tectonic shift in India-US relations. The changing Geo-Politics, particularly accentuated by the imperialistic moves by China, has repositioned the oldest and largest democracies of the World. Indian PM address to the Joint session of the US Congress encapsulated the changed realities. US will be India’s biggest Defense Partner and India is the World’s largest defense importer. Strategic and path breaking tech agreements in Aerospace and joint innovations, a very subtle but nuanced change on India’s position and support to peacefully resolve the ongoing Ukraine war. India, as the fifth largest economy in the world, with US support and open market investments, will accelerate to become the third largest Economy, thanks to the unique strides in Infrastructure and Digitilisation in India with 850 million smart phone and Internet users and fast paced digital payment systems. Fintech in India has made quantum leaps. Of every 100 digital payments in the world last year, 47 took place in India alone. Every road side vendor and panwala uses digital payments.
It’s been unbelievably hot and humid. Climate change implications are evident in US. Notwithstanding the high temperatures, look forward to an exciting stay here, the fun way, the enjoyable way, the SEEGOS way.
