And for a Friday of a lovely weekend with some of our favourite Nephews and Nieces in the snow capped Mountains of Vail near Denver, some thoughts….. some musings…..

USA, area wise is three times of India with 25% of India’s population, but, as in India, has varied climatic conditions. While Dallas was kettle hot at 40-41 degrees C, up in the Mountains in Vail off Denver we needed all our Winter clothing at 3-5 degrees C. Denver is called the “Mile High City” as it is exactly 5280 feet above sea level. Drive to Dillon and Vail is well above 9000 feet above sea level with world renowned ski-resorts, diverse shopping and breathtaking mountain views. The 9 bedroom Chalet we hired had the snow covered mountain view on one side and the Golf Course on the other. Beautiful; enjoyed the time with our near and dear ones.
At every interface one felt the shortage of staff. Labour availability and thus the issues of letting in more immigrants from across the world to meet the labour market. No doubt US has a very well evolved Immigration Policy. This is one Country Of Immigrants. By Immigrants, For Immigrants, they come from all over the world. From Ireland, Britain, all over Europe, Africa, Asia and ofcourse Mexico and North America etc. etc. The system is very well evolved to induct develop and merge into one common American identity. That’s the huge success of America, making it the worlds leading Super Power with a GDP of over 23 Trillion $s compared to India’s 4 trillion which positions India as the 5th largest Economy. Indians in US are a very successful ethnic group with a per capita income of over 126,000 $s which is almost double of the average American income of 63,000 $s. Ofcourse Indians in India are no comparison as average is about 2500 $s.
India and US as true Democracies with very complex yet evolved societies with “Unity in Diversity” as its motif, are poised for a far greater level of cooperation and synergistic sustainable development. Let’s all support this, the mutually respectful way, the empathetic way, the SEEGOS way.
