And for another Friday in Trivandrum with the legendary “Teacher”….. some thoughts on Sustainability…..

Honoured to be blessed by such a Social Reformer and Achiever

What an honour to meet Padmasri Sugathakumari, Kerala’s well known Poetess and Environmentalist, lovingly referred to as “Teacher”. A true ikon for the principles of Sustainability, wherein the Economy, Ecology and Society is in Harmony.

Teacher Sugathakumari, apart from being the most celebrated Malayalam Poetess, is a tireless crusader for the Weaker/Oppressed sections of Society and is most remembered for her “Save Silent Valley” campaign, a National Movement spearheaded by her. After years of toil, she succeeded in saving the Oldest and largest Natural Forest from submerging as a result of the planned Hydroelectric project which was abandoned and Silent Valley saved for all future generations to enjoy.

Sustainability is essential in all aspects of our life and the new boutique Padmavilasom Palace in Trivandrum symbolises it well. Use of Heritage, Culture and age old traditions, serving a full Kerala “Sadya” on a Banana leaf, using earthen pottery and preserving the Environment….. 100 years old Trees maintained….. great Ambience.

Each one of of us needs to be inspired by the work of the legends and every example of Sustainable Entrepreneurship. Let’s build a Developed India with Empathy for the poor, the Ethical way, the SEEGOS way.
