Attending a Board meeting in HDFC House (Old Lever House ) in Churchgate, which is normally a 20 mns drive from home, took more than a hour & half. Heaviest rains in three years with visibilty of 5 feet. But Hats off to the Yellow Raincoated Mumbai Traffic Police who controlled every junction. Unbelievable, the Absolute discipline they enforced as traffic was kept moving. Any other city…. well they would just shut down. Whilst by its own standards, Mumbai may have gone down compared to any other Indian City, she is right on Top. Three Cheers to Mumbai Police!!!!

Mumbai monsoon always coincides with Schools reopening and children enjoying the Rains. That brings me to the PCGT – “Kuch Aur ” programmes for school kids. Our volunteers and staff visit Municipal schools, Private schools, Remand Homes….. mostly with poor children, to instal moral values thru Multi media; particularly Movies, interactive sessions, competition, prizes etc.

The PCGT Trustees honoured two outstanding principals, Ms. Prema Kotian of Purshotam High School and Ms. Saba Patel of Anjuman Islam Girls High School & Jr College with more than 5000 students, mostly from very poor Economic background. These Super Women withstand and overcome every conceivable difficulty, but still are able to raise hopes and deliver Life success for so many Families by their outstanding contribution to Society.

No Indian can rise above India, unless the last BPL Indian is raised to Economic well being. Each of us must contribute. If we educate, empower, enrich a poor girl child….. we surely will help raise a better Indian Family.

Let each one of us take baby steps to build an India based in Good Education. Let’s build our Country the Ethical way…. the SEEGOS way.
