For a Friday after “Dahi Handi” in Mumbai….some thoughts…….
Janmashtami, like every other festivity is great, for us to worship, enjoy and celebrate. But the enjoyment of a few cannot be at the cost of the majority who have to suffer, and add to that serious body injuries, risk to participants and bystanders.
The Supreme Court has ruled max of 20 feet, 4 levels and that kids below 18 not allowed, but reality…..
I do not understand politics at all. I am a professional with limited expertise in managing capital as a Trustee for the stake holders, but how come every opportunity is politicised to the advantage of a few and disadvantage of the majority.
The ridiculous receptions to the only two Medalists, one from the south and another from North India. At the public receptions there have been hilarious scenes, politicians glorifying themselves for three hours and basking in the reflected spotlight of the two “Poor” sportspersons.
Seventy years after we are an independent, democratic, pluralistic Republic, why are we still so obsequious, so ‘Master-Servant’ oriented??
Let’s all resolve to take at least some limited action, let’s speak up and not leave to others. Let’s focus on Ethics and build our Nation …..the SEEGOS way.
