And for a Friday after the Ruling from NCLT on TATA Group some thoughts…..
The 356 page judgement of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has dismissed Cyrus Mistry’s petition challenging his Removal as Tata Sons Chairman. It has also rejected allegations of misconduct against the Company Board and Mr. Ratan Tata.
Allegations of NANO Project losses or acquisition of Corus Steel in UK, to me are frivolous. Visionary Business Leaders have to see long term and have to take calculated Risks. They have to make Opportunities of Situations which most see as “Disasters”. If a majority of the Decisions turn right, the Business prospers. Nano may have failed, but when it was launched it drew World attention. I remember the Delhi Event was absolutely World class. Every Global Car Manufacturer and Auto Parts supplier got attracted to India. As an Indian running a German MNC then, I felt proud.
The House of Tatas undoubtedly manage the most Professional and Ethical Companies in India, setting Global Standards in Corporate Governance. My good friends, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekharan, Titan Industries Bhaskar Bhatt, Tata Chemicals Mukundan and so many others are Professionals of the highest Integrity.
In these Uncertain, Volatile and Unpredictable Global times, India needs its top Corporates Houses to fire on all cylinders. Let us not bicker amongst ourselves. Let us all work to build a Competitive India, the Ethical way, the transparent way, the SEEGOS way.
