And for a Friday in God’s Own Country, Trivandrum in Kerala….. some thoughts….
Every visit to Kerala is refreshing, enjoyable, the Greenery, the cleanliness, the water and not surprising, Trivandrum was rated the cleanest, least polluted city in India. Particulate measure of 13 as compared to the most polluted Delhi at 502, Noida at 404 and Ammchi Mumbai at 46.
The cleaner and greener a state, it lends itself to lot of opportunities. Kerala is rightly focusing on rebranding itself as the Best IT Destination, the Best place to live and work, for Education, good and affordable housing, Excellent cuisine, International Airports, Seaport, Rail and Road linkages. In Feb 2016, Kerala was declared the First Digital state amongst the 29 States of India, with 100{aff5a224634bf574f692c8c7d068a0713fecca4ea38a30d3005107227dbb12e7} Mobile connectivity and more than 75{aff5a224634bf574f692c8c7d068a0713fecca4ea38a30d3005107227dbb12e7} Internet Literacy.
Unbelievable but true….. the same Communists who agitated against Computer introduction in the 80ies, now with a CPM Govt at the helm is wooing Satya Nadella of Microsoft and Sundar Pichai of Google to be the Keynote speakers at the forthcoming Global Event “Toward a Digital Future” in March 2018 showcasing Kerala as preferred IT Destination. Way to go when it comes to opportunities in the Global world…. tap every resource….. young people need jobs….. everything else can wait.
Artificial Intelligence is commodifying older Technologies…. Integration, Behaviourial Analysis, Face Recognition technologies and IOT…. all have great scope…. will need reskilling of our Engineers…. new competences…. newer skill sets.
Let’s all work together, let’s have less of Politics and more of Economic Development, less of Protests and Bandhs and more of Community collaborations. Let’s capitalise on Global opportunities, the legal way, the Digital way, the Ethical way…. the SEEGOS way.
