And for a Friday at the PCGT annual event in Mumbai, some thoughts……

As a Trustee of PCGT (Public Concern for Governance Trust ), I am amazed by our Chairman – Padma Bhushan Julio Riberio – 90 years “Young” Warhorse, his childlike enthu, boundless Energy, Can-do Spirit and willingness to take up causes for the poor and underprivileged.

PCGT, runs three major Programmes. KUCH-AUR – in Municipal and other schools bringing concepts of Values, Sadhbhavna and good citizenship. YFG – Youth for Governance – Dialogues series with College Students. RTI – free training, clinics on how to use the RTI under the Right to Information Act.

So nice to see young school kids from Tardeo Municipal School, Anjuman Islam Girls School, Purshottam High School and College Students from Elphinstone, Poddar, Shroff and other Colleges….. all perform Skits, dances and Street plays on Unity in Diversity. Each child exhibited genuine national character and commitment to the Idea of India.

No wonder in the Key Note Address our Chief Guest, Mr. Rajmohan Gandhi – Paternal Grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and Maternal Grandson of C Rajagopalachari was just Awestruck and saluted the Chairman.

Let us all consolidate the Idea of India, an all inclusive Democracy embracing all Religions, languages and cultures. Let’s build our Nation the Legal way, the inclusive way, the SEEGOS way.
