And for a Friday readjusting life to COVID19, some thoughts….. some musings…..

Provision stores….. one metre distance….. Indian Jugaad technology…..

When a humongous crisis of unimaginable proportions like COVID-19 hits a democratic country, you have to be blessed to have a capable strong leader in command of a nation of 1.3 billion people of all hues and colours, all religions of the world, all shades of political thoughts, who portrays calmness, wisdom, capacity to absorb specialist knowledge, internalise the short term and long term consequences, take very tough decisions and have the capability to communicate directly to 1.3 billion people, taking on responsibility for their lives as a family head would do, India has gone on a national lockdown for 21 days under PM, Narendra Modi.

As a poor developing country there will be collateral damages no doubt, but we are all in it together. Let’s support our poor, our aged and our dispossessed. India is implementing the World’s largest Food security programme ever undertaken. 800 million people will be provided free and subsidised Ration. Every one of the poor will receive free Rice and wheat and be able to buy wheat at Rs 2 per kg against market price of 27 rs and rice at 3 per kg against market price of 37 per kg. Cash is being transferred direct to the Jandhan bank accounts. Already by last week end 1,37,000 Metric tonnes of food grain moved by special Rakes to the deficit states from Food Corporation Godowns across India.

Let us all be in solidarity with our leader no matter which political stream you follow. Whether we like or not, when our country is attacked let’s stay together and light a candle, lamp, torch or mobile light on Sunday 5th April at 9 pm after putting off the lights at home. Think of all our poor brothers and sisters. Think of our Family members/friends in other parts of the world the loving way, the caring way, the SEEGOS way.
