And for a Friday in Mumbai, for the High level Conference on “Bringing Integrity into Business Practices”…. some thoughts….
It’s such a coincidence I participated as Chairman of Ethics Committee of the 175 year old BCCI and Chairman of Alliance for Integrity. We could get some of the most renowned professionals in the country…. sharing best practices to improve Governance and Fight Corruption.
Alliance for Integrity is a business driven multi-stakeholder initiative headquartered in Berlin and BCCI is the oldest Chambers in the country. But the challenge is the same….. no easy shortcuts. Ethics, Integrity and Governance require the long grinding tough steps. It is the only path to differentiate India into the next decade. It can propel the Country to Double Digit Equitable Growth.
Today Professionals and Good Business must not depend on government alone to make a level playing field for doing Ethical Business.
Times have changed. Technology, Social Media and the Global Citizenry, must evolve unique approaches and ways, as the eminent participants shared.
Ease of doing business can only be achieved if all participants enable each other to follow the Rule of Law. Corrupt practices must not only be shunned but shamed as well. Well….. easier said than done!!!!!
That’s what the Conference attempted to do, learn from each other and share best Practices and vow not to corrupt or be corrupted.
