And for a Friday ….. in Trivandrum …. the twists & turns of Life ….. loosing friends, relatives, colleagues, school & college batchmates ……as good memories live on … life goes on ….some thoughts …. some musings…..
Age is ofcourse just a number …. but into my seventies ….. I realise approaching super senior citizenship comes with its own sets of pluses & minuses …….the big PLUS …. No “To -Do List “ …….I try to be active … engaged…. happy …. helpful …….& travelling to meet friends & relatives & partake in as many fun events as possible ..….BUT also to face up to harsh realities of loosing some dear ones …… some are tragic …….like a younger colleague traveled to another city to attend his former Boss’s funeral with his wife & whilst returning death by a road accident …… such tragedies are shocks … but seniors whose families are all well settled …..as they depart ……. no doubt feel saddened … but try to remember all the lovely memories … the Drinks shared …..jokes exchanged …..together photos & re-live goodies virtually with the lost person …… Life has to go on …….
This trip to Trivandrum …..to see my dear friend Jimmy one last time ….. James Joseph I.A&A.S was the Auditor General of Kerala , Tamil Nadu & Maharashtra …. apart from senior posts in Delhi & later heading KSRTC & KSIDC in Kerala…….. our friendship of more than three decades …..both of us from completely different backgrounds … me from Corporate in Private Sector & Jimmy an Engineer & a Class 1 Central Govt . Services officer …..Jimmy was Mercurial , Controversial ….intellectually gifted …witty ..a great Zest for life & above all a big heart to help & be useful to Society ….. what we both had hugely in common was an unflinching commitment to Good Governance & as a principle …..Fight Corruption in all its forms ……. Jimmy was a big follower & supporter of SEEGOS & had the guts to fight the Big & Powerful…. & willing to pay the price ……. He made outstanding podcasts post retirement in Malayalam under his banner “ Bharnachakram” ……we will miss you Jimmy forever in Trivandrum … today the drink is on me …… 🍷Cheers !!!!
