And for the first Friday of 2022, some thoughts….. some musings…..

A Remembrance card from the Bangalore Club… Happy New Year to all.

First things first. Let me wish all my friends, colleagues, relatives and their families a Happy New Year. May we be blessed with good health, love and ability to reach out and care for each other. Amongst various nations of the world, India has emerged from the first two waves rather better positioned than most other Developing countries. Thanks to the availability of vaccines within the country, we were not at the mercy of the Developed Nations. The massive disruptions in the global supply chain, the ever-straining and deteriorating Sino-US trade relations, imperialist designs of China have all combined to open up new opportunities for India. Global MNCs are rethinking their manufacturing concentration in China. Many are moving to “China plus one” strategy. Combined with incentives of PLI, top class and abundant supply of Tech savvy young Professionals and an ever growing Domestic market, India has lots to gain. This is reflected in the rising Stock markets indices, trade confidence and private investments.

We cannot let our guard down. Omicron has raised its ugly head and spreading much faster. Our young teens are being vaccinated. It’s a huge success. In the first three days alone, more than 13 million teenagers between 15-17 years have been vaccinated. Karnataka state claims 25% already covered and expects 100% coverage within next ten days. Also, commencing next week, all frontline workers and those above 60 will get their third booster dose on completion of 90 days of the second dose. NTAGI ( National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) considering all scientific data so far available have decided to keep the same vaccine for the third booster shot in India. Covishield vaccinated will get Covishield. All eligible must go for it ASAP.

Let’s all resolve to continue to fully follow all Covid protocols, the meticulous way, the safe way, the SEEGOS way.
