And for the last Friday of this trip in USA….. some thoughts…..
Undoubtedly America is the only Super Power in the World today – though China, the second biggest Economy, is trying hard to compete, she is nowhere close. US is miles ahead particularly powered by its strength in Innovation, Research and Technology. US has unique strengths – excellent physical infrastructure, world class universities with some of the Best Brain Power drawn from all parts of the World and easy access to capital. In every field of Innovation, US is ahead. Lets just look at Medical area. Thanks to Dr. Nair, I had the privilege to visit the CIS facilities in Houma, Louisiana.
CIS has pioneered new Technologies to advance the treatment of Periphral Vascular Diseases (PVD) with special emphasis on critical limb ischemia, amputation prevention and the link between PVD and increased Cardiovascular mortality. Dr. Nair utilises Catheters to treat and intervene in the spread of Cardiovascular issues. The new technology has the ability to accurately and efficiently place a guide wire thru complex occlusions in the peripheral arteries. Its fantastic.
India needs massive strides in Medical facilities for its huge population not only in the big cities but the Tier 2 and 3 towns. We need newer relevant technologies which are affordable and scalable. Lets all support cooperation and coordination with US Research Institutes on mutually favourable terms. Lets help build a healthier Nation, the innovative way, the Transparent way, the SEEGOS way.
