lobbyingAnd for a Friday in Mumbai…. after the historic Supreme Court Verdict…. some thoughts….

I found it disgusting to see the TV News channels gloating over, who is to be the Next CM of Tamil Nadu in the context of the Supreme Court Verdict.

How insensitive to corruption and goondaism have we as a Society become?

State after state, elections are fought by goondas with money and muscle power. Even a municipal corporation election is not spared. In Mumbai, 216 candidates standing for Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections have serious criminal cases against them and nobody cares.

The concluding lines of the Supreme Court Judgement must be read and reread by every Honest Indian. Quotes…. “Corruption is a vice of insatiable avarice for self-aggrandisement by the unscrupulous, taking unfair advantage of their power and authority, backed by minatory loyalists.”

This pernicious menace stemming from moral debasement of the culpables, forges an unfair advantage of the dishonest over the principled, thus has a demoralising bearing on those who are Ethical, Honest, upright and enterprising.

On this day I salute all those honest and brave officers and men from the Police, investigation and Judiciary, whose selfless and fearless work enabled this historic verdict. My Pranams and thanks to the likes of RK Raghavan, the former CBI director who 21 years ago conducted raids. And who can ever forget, John Micheal Dcunha, the upright Judge of the Bangalore trial Court whose Judgement the Supreme Court endorsed almost in toto.

The Supreme Court has beseeched every citizen to be a partner in the sacrosanct mission to free the civil order from the suffocative throttle of this deadly affliction, Corruption.

Let each one of us believe in the Idea of Free India….. let’s build our Nation….. the Ethical way….. the SEEGOS way
