And for a Friday travelling into Thiruvananthapuram city in national focus and not for Kerala tourism, some thoughts….. some musings…..

At the outset, my disclaimer – I have no party affiliations and very meagre political analytical capability. My expertise for more than 4 decades is as a Corporate Professional and as a Trustee managing capital for sustainable and equitable growth of all stake holders. I am committed to nation building and help realise the dream of becoming 5 Trn$ economy the fastest, enable our 150 Mn BPL citizens rise out of poverty, which can only happen in an inclusive, secular, vibrant democracy with outstanding committed politicians of the times. Been privileged to be associated with the dynamism and result-orientation of PM Modi during his days as Gujarat CM. His visionary approach, sharp intellect, eye for details and the ability to implement at scale. It’s a lasting impression that I have carried thru all these years. Was even in the team for the first Vibrant Gujarat 2003 action. And my corporate colleague Prakash Nedungadi who quit as President of Aditya Birla Group to join AAM AADMI party in Bengaluru and working as a grassroots politician. We need to support individuals of character and principles as politicians. My friend Shashi Tharoor is one such.
The ongoing elections for the Presidentship of Congress party has drawn huge attention particularly from the Indian middle class and the international diaspora. The credit must go to Rahul Gandhi for not only sticking to his word of not opting to be the Party President but enabling an open contest, an election in which, Shashi has demonstrated by his candidacy a principled political approach, a beacon of hope to attract good lateral talent into politics in all parties in India. His hashtag for elections “Think Tomorrow;Think Tharoor” and announcing a manifesto with ten tenets for revival of the party. Win or lose, I raise a toast to my friend for enforcing the process.
India needs good politicians, a strong Govt and equally strong opposition to build a 5 Trn$ economy, the democratic way, the inclusive way, the SEEGOS way.
