And for a Friday …… on a vacation to Phuket in Thailand …..:some thoughts …. some musings…..

Kind courtesy of a very dear friend of ours Suresh & his gracious wife Sumi we are hosted in a fabulous Marriott resort in this beautiful rainforested mountainous island in the sea -Phuket in Thailand. This picturesque town has some of the best pristine Beaches , seaside resorts , Spas, shopping centres & night clubs …..this place draws visitors from all over the world ….. imagine the power of Tourism as an Industry …job provider & Economy multiplier …… Phuket & all its surroundings has a population just over 4 lakhs & yet they receive more than 8 million Tourists every year …….Tourism & Hospitality comes very naturally to the Thais ….. from the staff at the immigration to every local & service provider is so caring & mindful of the Visiting Tourists ..,… India has a lot to learn on developing Tourism as an Industry & Economic force multiplier …….
Phuket has a 400 square Kms of original mangroves forest & is a UNESCO protected National Park …… there are many small islands with breathtaking views & rock formations ….. one of the major tourist attractions is a boat ride to an Island referred to as James Bond Island …… the Bond movie “ The Man with a Golden Gun “ was shot in this island …….. Power boats ferry tourists to these small islands under a well drawn out day long expedition into the sea off the Phuket coast including a very adventurous small 2 seater Canoe boat ride into the sea amidst the Mountain craters( this one not for the faint hearted) …..Health rejuvenation seems to be a speciality here …… many centres offer a 10 IV Customised treatment formula based on each customers body & blood count ….. the IV treatment followed by massage is a big draw with tourists …… not to forget …. Having Cannabis is now legal & different strengths are available at different price points …one gram is approximately INR 2500 …….
Nothing like a relaxed holiday …. No social agendas … no meetings …. nothing formal…..Eat, enjoy ,relax……India has so many naturally beautiful tourist spots …. Let’s all support holiday Tourism as Industry ….. the involved way ……. the sustainable way ….. the SEEGOS way.
