And for a Friday returning from “Thenga” land (Coconut Country – Kerala )…. some thoughts….

It continues to amaze me, the never satiating appetite for Gold in Kerala. Sitting at a well known Jewellery store – was a new lesson in Management for me – a multi-storey shop with scores of sales counters and smartly dressed salesmen and women, but more customers waiting patiently for their turn!!!
For a young to-be-bride, a dark brown apron tied to the neck and then, layers and layers of Gold Jewellery are neatly and orderly arranged until every part of the upper anatomy is covered. Then each item passes the approval of every family member…. necklace…. bangles replaced…. thick with thin… with stones… changed….. till unanimous approval….. oofff….. simply amazing!!!!!!!
Not surprising…. in Kerala, just three large Gold loan companies have Gold holdings of 263 Tonnes of Gold…. higher than the Gold reserves of Belgium, Singapore, Sweden or Australia.
If you like “Mallu” cuisine, nothing can beat Kerala Parattha and Beef fried…… Tapioca and Fish curry….. Aappam and chicken stew. For the Veggies, go for the Plantain Leaf Sadya…. unbeatable. Never miss a wedding invite at Trivandrum Club. Sadya in AC comfort followed by a long Siesta….. the ultimate Nirvana!!!!!
I am not sure why, maybe due 100{aff5a224634bf574f692c8c7d068a0713fecca4ea38a30d3005107227dbb12e7} literacy or high Political awareness or the Alternative Govts – UDF led by Congress and LDF by Communists – Corruption is undoubtedly lowest compared to all States and particularly the neighbouring states.
Let each State compete with other to make India a better place to live in….. the Ethical way….. the SEEGOS Way.
