And for a Friday amongst falling Stock Markets and contagion affects of SVB implosion, some thoughts….. some musings…..

Public Probident Fund is the first investment every earning member MUST have.

In every risk there is an opportunity. The current fall in stock Markets in India, first triggered by the Adani group Hindenburg saga, followed by the Californian SVB bank implosion and the tremors at Credit Suisse, in the backdrop of the continuing Ukraine conflict has now opened opportunities to re-enter the Stock Market in carefully calibrated moves. There is no doubt that the India growth story is intact. Most major American, European and Japanese manufacturers are implementing the China-Plus strategy by diversifying their supply chain. It makes great sense to now manufacture in India not only as supply side diversification but for the country’s domestic market. Expanding middle class in India is one of the worlds largest markets including the most luxurious items. No wonder Deepika Padukone is now the Global Brand Ambassador of Louis Vuitton.

Come March, the end of the financial year, it’s time to sit back and analyse your investments, assets and forward plans. Particularly for those in the 50 plus age groups, it’s mandatory to provide for inflation proof, hassle free, tax friendly investments. For most upper middle class Indians, who own more than one apartment or inherited properties in different cities, these assets must be monetised. Days of galloping real estate appreciations are over. Get rid of illiquid assets. An excellent tax friendly investment is in HDFC Life Sanchay Plus scheme – guaranteed tax free lifelong income. Some Gold investments are a must for every Indian family. Consider RBI sovereign bonds – safe, tax efficient and productive. If not familiar with shares then go for a balanced Mutual fund. But some investment, directly or indirectly, in shares is a must.

India is the big growth story of the world in the coming decade. Let’s prepare by investing, the prudent way, the well-informed way, the SEEGOS way.
