And for a Friday ….. saddened by the bereavement of a close friend ….. some thoughts …. some musings ……

My dear friend K. Ramaswamy best known amongst all his friends by his nickname name ….. Paps shortened from Papan …..was one of the most uncharacteristically ..deviant … brilliant … fiercely independent … reckless … unconventional & with a truly miraculous God given gift of Mind over Body ……. Of the 1975 XLRI-Jamshedpur MBA batch …..he had a Kidney transplant in US at age 32 when both his kidneys had failed … he got transplanted kidney of a 14 year old US boy who had died in a skiiing accident …… Probably my friend Paps holds the world record of having been the longest living person with a cadaveric transplanted Kidney………hold on … over the years …..he lost his knee caps …. had a stent in his heart ….. got problems with his tongue which needed surgery…. What not ….Voice therapy …what not….. but thru his forties ….. fifties …. Sixties … & seventies …. He lived a full life …. full of humour …. Enjoyed his Drinks … his chicken & fish ….was the heartbeat of every Gettogether … could narrate a smutty joke as eloquently as he recalled Shakespeare to a word ….. or explained Economic theories to his graduating daughters …….or impromptu cleared a full CEO compensation package for one of his Corporate clients ……He never allowed any of his illnesses to ever worry him …. His positive spirit & mind over body was unimaginable …… was an ikon for all us normal Mortals …. his friends ….. we surely will miss you … Paps …..
As our batch moves into mid seventies it is but natural that we start loosing dear friends … relatives& close ones …… we need to learn to cope with the loss ….. learn to live with the pleasant memories & make the best of every day …. Living life as meaningful …. Useful…..Enjoyable &. Happy as we can make it ……
As we bid farewell to Paps let his life remind us to enjoy life …. the cheerful way …. the fearless way …. the SEEGOS way.
