And for a Friday after one of the most heart wrenching events to humankind, an unknown emerging tragedy, some thoughts….. some musings…..
The World was shocked to see Globally labelled Terrorists, led then by Osama bin laden, the Al Qaeda, now referred to as Taliban fighters couched on the sofas in the Afghan Presidential palace in Kabul with loaded rifles, unkept beards and every bit the unruly ruthless barbarians and ordinary unarmed Afghan citizens running alongside an US Airforce Plane. Helpless and desperate to save themselves, they climbed aboard the planes wings and onto the wheel well into which the landing gear would fold after take off. The Airforce plane, notwithstanding the crowds, took off and as it was airborne, millions across the world saw the gory sight of body parts of those helpless Afghans crushed to death and falling from the skies, some part of their body still stuck to the wheels. That sight summed up the human tragedy unfolding in Afghanistan.
Anxious to know of well being, I desperately contacted my Afghan friend Noor who works with a German international agency and was relieved to know that he is safe and outside Afghanistan. But he is very worried and deeply concerned about all his relatives back home. That would be the story of every Afghan in every part of the World. India, Germany and the other real Democracies of the World are too shocked with the unsavoury developments. But every weakening of the free thinking Democratic world will further strengthen the imperialistic, opportunistic and sinister Dictators like Xi Ping of China, the Pakistani Army establishment, Turkish President Erdogan and others of their ilk who have quickly supported the Insurgents announcing that Afghanistan has been saved from the slavery of the Western World.
It does not matter to us where the Colombian University Doctorate former President Ashraf Ghani is in, as a refugee in UAE or Uzbekistan or Tajikistan. Every one of us in India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari has to be more vigilant, the security conscious way, the confident way, the SEEGOS way.
