I do not know what US lost or gained, but Kim Jung Un the despicable Dictator of North Korea went laughing back to his bank and people. He won it all. Kim got all the legitimacy he wanted, got recognised as a full fledged Nuclear Weapon State, Global TV coverage, “Security Guarantees” from US and an assurance of suspension of “War Games”.
Unbelievable but it’s happening. US the Leader of the Free World, the Principal Architect of the Modern World Order, creator of Institutions to Monitor Orderly International Trade, Guarantor of the Rule of Law and Transparency developed close and intimate relationships with Countries across the World based on Affection, Loyalty, Trust and Reciprocity and lo and behold, one Presidency changes all upside down. All in an attempt to make America First or is it America Alone.
The generosity of US at Singapore was in stark contrast to the ambiguity of North Korea and a shock to the US long term partners South Korea and Japan. To add to Global confusion, the breakdown of G-7, Brexit, EU in turmoil, NATO unsure…. But in all this what’s in it for India? Its the opportunity. We must make the most of Volatility, Uncertainty and chaos. It is nothing new for Indians. Let all Indian Nationals and those of Indian Origin in powerful Global Economic positions help bring Capital, bring Technology and create jobs in India.
NRIs or Foreigners, but with strong Indian DNA must support building a Developed India. Don’t worry about our Political or bureaucratic systems. We will develop sometimes because of them and most times Inspite of them. So let’s all build a Global India, Developed India, the Interconnected way, the Ethical way, the SEEGOS way.
