And for a Friday on a short vacation to the Amalfi coast in Italy, some thoughts….. some musings…..

During my working days with the German MNC and earlier with Searle and Tatas, have visited many cities Rome, Milan and Florence on work, but never had the opportunity to travel to the Amalfi coast in Italy. It has undoubtedly some of the most beautiful and quaint places in Europe. The entire coastline is filled with charming small towns and villages with breathtakingly picturesque locales. Some of the exclusive 5 star boutique hotels are located on the terraces offering a spectacular sea view, immersed in the silence of luxuriant nature at its best. Special private speed boats can be hired by the day to take to various islands in the bay areas. One such Capri island, accessible only by the sea is home to some of the most famous global film stars and billionaires. Gourmet food, private beaches, specialised massages; it’s a luxury holiday one can’t forget.
Italy is the third largest economy of Europe behind Germany and France. Italy is well known for its Architecture, Culture, Art, Opera, Literature, Films and Fashions. The country is largest exporter of luxurious goods. It’s economy is based on services, finance and tourism with a large contribution from small and medium sized industries. Its a rich developed country with a per capita GDP of over 35,000 $. Italy is the world’s largest exporter of wines and ofcourse home to the most popular food item in the World – The Pizza. More than 5 billion Pizzas are consumed every year and is the most photographed food item ever.
Italians are India friendly. India was special invitee to the G7 meeting held last week which was attended by our PM. Let us all support India-Italy friendship, the cooperative way, mutually respectful way, the SEEGOS way.
