Brazil , Russia, India , China conceived & in 2010 South Africa joined to form …..BRICS with the objective of “ Global Stability , Security & Prosperity” …….. last two decades since its formation…Global Geopolitics ….. Covid as Black Swan Event, Relative Economic strengths …. Super Power dynamics …. Struggles of the poorer nations …. Protectionism of the Worlds richest Nation .. USA ….have all combined to alter Global equations …. World order … Global institutions & the Concept of a free world , based on internationally accepted & mutually respected …laws … conventions & practices ….. BRICS 2026 under India’s chairmanship …..now consists of 11 member countries 10 Partners Countries & many invitee countries ……theme being…….“ Building for Resilience, Innovation , Cooperation & Sustainability”…….. the world focus is on India ….as Russian President Putin lands today & Chinese President Xi Ping arrives tomorrow …….to join a host of World leaders & heads of States ….this is an unique opportunity for India to take centre stage & assert its claim for leadership of the Global South …….
India has come a long way from being a poor malnourished desperate country with a GDP of 20 Bn $s & a life expectancy of 32 years at independence in 1947 …. to today amongst the Top 5 nations of the World with GDP of over 4 Trillion $s & a life expectancy of over 70 years & a young nation with average age of 29 years ……this achievement is remarkable cos the entire growth has been self made with virtually no help from any quarters ….. no freebies from the Rich Countries … like the Marshall plan for Europe after World War 2 ….. India has grown based on its own people strength , resilience , entrepreneurship & a unique form of noisy , chaotic democracy which ensured the Nation had eminent visionary leaders at each stage of our Growth to guide thru every challenge the country faced since independence …… from a food deficit country … thanks to Green Revolution…… now India is not only self sufficient but a major exporter of food grains … vegetables & horticulture …. with its digital infrastructure, STEM manpower , new age defence manufacturing capability …. India is emerging as a dependable partner for every developing country in the Global South ……our philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kuttumbakam embodies our vision of the World as one large caring Family …….
Each & every Indian can feel proud of the achievements … but we also recognise the challenges that lie ahead …. to eradicate poverty completely , have equitable growth & raise our standard of living …..let’s all support Nation building …. the involved way …. the sustainable way … …. the SEEGOS way.
