Courtesy my friend Thomas Lawrence & the leadership of MBA programme I enjoyed participating in “ Lead 2025 “ with the Faculty & students of the MBA programme at this Lively , vibrant , enthused … 24x 7 Campus …. of young minds …. Generation Z …..studying various undergraduate to postgraduate & Doctoral programmes ….. in an ambience of a very cosy , comfortable & creative environment ….. as the Director & Dean of the Campus Fr.Dr.Lijo Thomas explained the Campus ethos of “ Excellence & Service” , integrating value-driven education with Professional readiness. The Campus leadership is characterised by an immersive residential model , mentorship-rich pedagogy & student oriented growth. My focus to the MBA students was on importance of Ethics , Good Governance & a foundation based on Values & Principles …… “ Values create Value”………
The Christ University Lavasa Campus is like an Oasis in an otherwise Ghost town of Lavasa with half completed buildings & an empty deserted township …..Lavasa is about 65 Kms from Pune with a beautiful scenic drive of about 2 &1/2 hours thru lovely picturesque mountain roads ….. Lavasa was envisioned as an European style city with open promenades , water front , elite urban amenities …..modelled after the quaint Italian fishing village of Portofino …. the plan envisaged a city of the future where residents & visitors could live , work, learn & play in harmony with nature …..included was Golf courses … Football & Rowing academies ….Hospitals …Hospitality management school with Swiss partnership etcetc ….. alas a combination of Political maladjustment , financial irregularities , alleged Environmental concerns …all combined to choke what would have been India’s first planned city as part of Urban decongestion after Chandigarh ….. unfortunately…… the idea of Lavasa was ahead of its times ……. then …. Let’s pray & hope some day … somehow …. It all revives …..regenerates ….
My mission to spread awareness of Good Governance & fighting Corruption leads me to seminars with MDs & KMPs of Corporate sector at one level & MBA students at the start level …. Let’s all support India’s Growth story …: the involved way ….. the sustainable way …. the SEEGOS way.
