And for a Friday following the 77th Independence Day, some thoughts….. some musings…..
Since the liberalisation of India from the pseudo-socialist days of 1991, the Nation has made massive strides; technologically, demographically and economically. The successful launch of Chandrayan-3 showcases our ambitious Lunar exploration. The mission’s Vikram lander has successfully separated from the propulsion module and is expected to land on the moon surface on 23 August 2023. What’s incredible is, compared to any other developed country who have ventured into space, India’s mission is at the most economical and “Value for money” model, opening up opportunities for huge expansion on commercial globally competitive financial ventures. Demographically, we are the only country in the world with a young population below 29 years, offering to the world, skill sets and competencies at every price point – from unskilled but adventurous hard working labour to the most brilliant tech scientists at the cutting edge of AI and ML. Economically, having beaten UK to become the 5th largest Economy, we will within the next three years become the 4th and later the 3rd largest.
The Prime Minister, at the Independence Day speech, again exhorted the Nation to fight the menace of Corruption. Unfortunately, whilst everyone is aware and highlight the malaise of Corruption, the solution is not easy. The corruption cycle is seamless and endless. Indian Democracy needs politicians who need money which generates venues. The venues are lubricated by corruption. Hence the only long term solution to improve Governance and reduce Corruption, MUST come from the honest citizens from middle class India. The formalisation of the economy owing to GST, Digitilisation and UDYAM portal for MSME is propelling more citizens into filing Income tax returns. Imagine, tax filers was a mere 2.1 million in FY 2013 and it has shot up to 85 million in FY 2023. The honest tax paying citizens who fund the Nations development must be at the forefront in this fight against Corruption. One easy step; join the SEEGOS Momentum.
