And for a Friday after the inaugural cohort of ICAT…. some thoughts…..
Sharing the dais with our Keynote speaker, Rohini Nilekani was as educative as humbling.
While for Nandan with his achievements in Biometric and IRIS based Unique identification AADHAR, one wonders what Global Award will match his accomplishments, Rohini’s activities are no less impactful.
Her articulation of technology in Societal Platforms for common good was indeed superb, her achievements with Pratham, Akshara and several boards she serves in, has set the right tone for the ICAT cohort.
ICAT – Indian Corporate Action Tank is a first of its kind Global Initiative, jointly started by Yunus Social Business and TATA Trusts, India’s first incubator for large corporates to create in-house Social Businesses.
Social Business is a financially sustainable organisation created solely to solve a social problem with focus on the neediest, most underserved segments of our citizens and unlike NGOs which are dependent on charity, Social Businesses have revenue streams. Aarti and Rahul of YSB will only be too happy to share more info.
I am convinced the time is ripe in India for more youngsters to look at every societal problem as a business opportunity, a Social Business, to build our Nation…. the Right way…. the Ethical way…..the SEEGOS way.
