And for a Friday …. returning from Mumbai after the 70 th Founders day celebrations……some thoughts …. some musings……

It’s quite nostalgic that of the 70 years of the IndoGerman Chamber of Commerce-IGCC …. I have been associated for more than 30 years …. having been in the Management Committee & part of many Initiatives to improve India -Germany trade .. Friendship & relations….. it’s pleasing the mutual trade has now crossed 50 bn$…….. with more than 2000 German companies operating in India ……. & about 800 Indian companies present there …..Germany has eased its Visa issuances particularly for Business travellers ……there are huge opportunities for Indian students to study particularly in STEM subjects …. get practical training & even jobs …… Also good scope for skilled professionals like Nurses … Electricians ….Plumbers etc etc… many Indian states have MOUs to supply skilled labour subject to the regulations & agreement terms …..
The German Ambassador Dr Philip Ackermann …….has played a major role in further strengthening the excellent bond between the two countries …… the European FTA will herald a huge opportunity for both countries …..serving a combined population of 2 Bn & almost 25% of the Global GDP ……As my friend Dr. Ackermann detailed in his speech that in today’s highly volatile Geopolitical & Geo Economic times …. strong India-Germany relations provide a great stabilisation factor …. He defined the relations as …”Ganga-to -The Rhine” …. a partnership built on Trust …. .. it’s not happened overnight …. this relationship & trust has been tempered over time ….. will lead to huge involvement in joint Defence production & industrial road map ….. a god example is the agreement of Thyssenkrupp Marve System ( TKMS) for manufacture of 6 advanced Submarines in India …..& many many more mutually beneficial projects in Energy … Green Technology …. digital innovation.
In today’s chaotic & volatile world ….. where the established International Global laws & conventions are wantonly violated ….. let us all support the strong German-India partnership…. the involved way …. the sustainable way …. the SEEGOS way.
