And for a Friday in Mumbai arriving after the 11th HEF Annual Convention in Kharghar, some thoughts….. some musings…..

Sharing my thoughts…. Importance of Personal Ethics, at the 11th HEF Convention.

I am amazed at the plethora of positive Developments and Events that take place across our country in so many fields and go unreported. Education is as important as any. Higher Education Forum (HEF) is promoted as an advocacy group to meet the challenges in the landscape of higher education in India. My good friend Dr. A K Sengupta, former Dean of SP Jain, SIES etc. etc. is an Educationalist par excellence. He has been at the Forefront of various initiatives in the field of higher Education. I marvel at his zest, enthu and incisive knowledge of the subject.

Management Education has undoubtedly become the most popular stepping stone to career success in the Corporate sector. Whilst IIM Ahmedabad and Calcutta set up in 1960s, Bangalore in 73, are very well known globally. Huge capacities have been added between 2010-16. Now a total of 20 IIMs are operational in as diverse regions as Shillong, Rohtak, Kashipur, Nagpur, Bodhgaya and ofcourse not to omit the earlier ones at Kozhikode, Indore and Lucknow. Interacting with Dr. Metri, Director of IIM Trichy, the winner this year at HEF, was a great learning experience. Global management experts are called to the Trichy campus with revolutionary teaching aids and excellent job placements. The Youth in India are charged, competitive and competent. The good news .is that apart from the IIMs, there are a host of excellent Management teaching Institutions across the Country – a strong base for a 5 Trillion $ Economy.

Let us all support the Private Sector led Economic development, support Industry-Academia partnership and sharing value systems, the Ethical way, the transparent way, the SEEGOS way.
